Bicycle facilities subsidized by the Alvéole program in Grenoble (38)

To coincide with the start of the new academic year, Abri Plus manufactured and installed 2 secure bicycle shelters in Isère (38) for the Résidence universitaire de la Houille Blanche, located near Grenoble city center and Grenoble Alpes University.

The association managing the university accommodation, which initiated the project, wanted to put in place facilities to secure the bikes of students on campus, in order to combat bike theft and encourage bike travel within the University.

Abri Plus’s Modul’Ere collective bike park was chosen by the project managers.

In fact, this model of covered, secure bicycle parking has the distinctive feature of being modular and scalable .

Its dimensions can easily be adapted to your project, depending on the floor space available and the number of bicycles to be secured.

Each secure bike shelter has 40 secure bike parking spaces, each measuring 6.50 meters long by 5 meters wide and 2.91 meters high.

The rounded roof of the secure bike lockers gives them a resolutely contemporary design, and theModul’Ere bike shelter blends in perfectly with all types of environment.

A wide variety of coverings are also available for this model ofbike shelter: glass, wood, mesh, vertical or horizontal bars or a mix of these materials.

For the Grenoble residence, the main cladding of the bicycle shelters is galvanized and painted sheet metal , and the top of the shelter is slatted.

Opposite each other, these two collective bicycle parking facilities offer optimum security for two-wheelers, thanks to the installation of 2 Park Up two-storey bicycle racks fitted with safety rings.

Its rear-wheel bike-holding system makes it easy to get bikes on and off the second floor.

Each collective shelter has been equipped with 40 2 park up bike racks, giving a total capacity of 80 secure bike parking spaces for students on the University Campus.

Modul’Ere bicycle shelters can be completed with various options: adhesives, display panels, shelter access management system, lighting…

As soon as the project was completed, the 1905 law association managing the residence received a bonus equivalent to 60% of its investment, paid under the Alvéole CEE program.

The Alvéole scheme, supported by FUB and Rozo, is aimed at local authorities and social landlords, enabling them to finance part of their facilities for bicycles and VAEs.
