A collective BioCompost composter for tourists in Hendaye (64)

On January 1, 2024, a law came into force concerning biowaste, stipulating that all households must have a practical solution for sorting their biowaste at source. This law, which aims to recycle organic waste, mainly concerns local authorities and businesses. This is how we came to work with Tribioval on a collective composter project in Hendaye, in the south of France.

For this project for ashared composting shelter to be installed at a motorhome park in Hendaye (64), we selectedthe BioCompost collective composter. The BioCompost is an eco-designed, ergonomic and durable collective composter. It is made up of modular bins that are assembled to follow the different stages of composting: shred bin (wood chips to be mixed with waste), biowaste input bin, compost maturation bin, mature compost storage bin.

This collective composter shelter, made of resistant steel and wood for aesthetic appeal, has been designed to be as easy to use as possible. Each hatch can be locked to prevent illegal dumping. All you have to do is open a hatch and wedge it in place to deposit your waste effortlessly. What’s more, the Bio Compost is equipped with anti-rodent traps to prevent the intrusion of pests.

To manage this collective composter, you can request the services of a master composter. His or her task will be to ensure that the composting process runs smoothly and, if desired, to distribute it to volunteer households for plant feeding or repotting.
