3 bicycle shelters for the Catholic University of Rezé (44)

Encouraging students and teaching staff to adopt soft mobility thanks to a two-wheel parking facility? That’s the decision taken by the Catholic University of Rezé, which decided to call on Abriplus at the end of 2023, to develop its soft mobility offer in Loire-Atlantique (44).

For this project, no less than 3 bicycle shelters were installed by our teams. They were manufactured in our workshop in Saint Philbert de Grand Lieu, then transported and installed less than 20 minutes away, in the parking lot of the University of Reze.

The Beaufortain model has been selected for its excellent value for money and low budget. This flat-roofed shelter is ideal for parking bicycles and cycles. As a single unit, it measures 4 x 2.44 m, but is also available as a double unit measuring 7×2.44 m.

The first bike shelter, located next to the parking lot, is a simple Beaufortain shelter. This shelter is completed by 3 linked U-shaped bike racks. They can secure and stabilize up to 6 two-wheelers. Made from galvanized steel, these bollards are ideal for outdoor use.

In the courtyard of the University, two other bicycle parking facilities of the same design have been installed. The first, a double bike shelter, can accommodate up to 16 bikes. ROMEO bicycle racks have been installed inside the shelter to optimize the space available. Thanks to their alternating top and bottom positions, these bike racks double the parking capacity of bike shelters. They can be positioned in an open bike shelter or inside a closed bike shelter.

Finally, a 3rd bike park has been added, with 3 bicycle parking spaces and 10 scooter parking spaces thanks to the scooter rack. Offering several types of parking is an excellent initiative to meet the needs of all users.

The university wanted to customize the shelters in the colors of their choice, to facilitate their visual integration into the environment. They were able to choose from 184 colors in our RAL range, and the shelters were painted on our site in Les Sorinières.

All this equipment is listed on theUGAP website. What’s more, Beaufortains bike shelters and ROMEO racks are eligible for the Alvéole + program, a subsidy that can finance your project up to 50%.
