Secure bike lockers for bicycle tourists in Préfailles! (44)

Equipping public spaces with secure bicycle parking facilities in the run-up to the summer season is a major challenge for local authorities. Aware of this need, the town of Préfailles called on Abriplus to find a self-service bicycle parking solution for one of its seaside resorts.

Our teams went to the Pointe de Saint-Gildas parking lot in Préfailles to install Vel’box Angers secure bike lockers. These individual lockers are ideal for protecting and securing bicycles and VAEs. Thanks to their compact size, they are ideal for optimizing space and securing several bikes in a small area.

Two Vel’boxes, each with two spaces, have been installed at the entrance to the beach parking lot. Tourists now have access to secure boxes for storing their bicycles for short, medium or long periods. To secure their two-wheelers with this type ofbike shelter, users can use an anti-theft device or a padlock.

In addition to secure bicycle parking, the city has also added an inflation pump, a maintenance and comfort feature much appreciated by cyclists.

As for the design of this secure bike shelter, the cladding is made of wood and steel, offering a modern, elegant appearance that blends in perfectly with its natural surroundings. The color of the two-wheelershelter was customized and chosen by the customer from our palette of 184 RAL colors. Thanks to the large walls available on the Vel’box, it’s also possible to apply stickers to facilitate communication with users.

This project in Loire-Atlantique (44) is an excellent example of secure tourist parking. Strategically placed close to a stopping point, its use is guaranteed!

The Vel’box individual locker is available on the UGAP platform and is eligible for the Alvéole+ program, a subsidy that can finance up to 50% of your cycling equipment.
