In Loire-Atlantique, for the supply and installation of secure, individual bicycle lockers, Abriplus built 14 bicycle lockers for the Communauté de Communes de Grand Lieu (44).
Comm comm has implemented an active mobility development policy to encourage residents to use their bikes for local journeys.
With this in mind, 14 bicycle lockers have been installed in the 9 communes of Grand Lieu: le Bignon, Montbert, Pont Saint Martin, La Chevrolière, Geneston, Saint Colomban, la Limouzinière, Saint Philbert de Grand Lieu, Saint Lumine de Coutais.
Veloboxes have been set up in strategic locations in the various communes: town centers, car-sharing areas, near bus and coach stops.
They encourage intermodality by combining bicycles with other modes of transport, and prevent theft and damage.
The lockers are freely accessible 24 hours a day: cyclists deposit their bikes inside, secure them with their anti-theft device and then lock the door with their personal padlock.
In addition, subsidies for the purchase of electric bicycles have also been introduced for local residents.
These bicycle facilities are part of the CC de Grand Lieu’s Plan Global de Déplacements (Global Travel Plan) and the objective of doubling the share of bicycles in travel in Grand Lieu by 2030 in Loire-Atlantique (44).
