In the Puy-de-Dome region (63), Abri Plus has completed the refurbishment of the bicycle room at Clermont-Ferrand station on behalf of the Syndicat Mixte des Transports de l’Agglomération clermontoise.
Abri Plus proposed an optimized layout of its 2-level bike racks and bike docks to SMTC, in order to maximize the number of bikes that could be parked and secured in the bike park.
128 double-decker model 2 park-up bike racks installed on two levels double the bike parking capacity inside the station’s bike garage, thanks to a unique double-decker system.
To promote multimodality at the station, Abri Plus built this large-scale bicycle facility, providing parking for over 150 bicycles.
This double-decker bike rack is simple and easy to use for all users, thanks to an ergonomic handle and ball bearings.
The principle of retaining the bike by the fork means that bikes can be effortlessly raised and lowered from the second level.
The 2 park up double bike rack also features a bike lock in the rail and an anti-tilt system. The user’s bike is held securely (either by the fork or by the rear wheel).
To complement these 2-storey bike racks, 22 U-shaped bike racks have also been installed in the narrower spaces of the bike room.
U-bollards are easy to install and provide optimum security with three-point bike attachment.
Each bollard can park 2 bicycles (one on each side).
Each bike parking space has been numbered to facilitate use and to make it easier for users to locate their bikes.
These numerous secure bicycle parking spaces will simplify life for Clermont-Ferrand residents, who will be able to easily use several different means of transport for their daily commute (bike + train, bike + bus, etc.).
Bicycle service stations can also be installed indoors or outdoors, close to the bike shelter, so that cyclists can easily maintain their two wheels: inflation station, repair station, cleaning station…
