Nomad secure bike parks for cyclists in Metz (57)

Park Indigo, winner of the Délégation de Service Public contract to manage bicycle shelters for the city of Metz (57), called on Abri Plus to manufacture and install 2 bicycle parks in Moselle (57).

At the outset of the project, the Architectes des Bâtiments de France were looking for a secure, all-inclusive bike shelter with a few special features.

With this in mind, Abri Plus’s designer worked on the Nomad bike shelter model and came up with a custom-made U-shaped awning on the front of the bike locker.

2 covered bicycle parks have just been installed in high-traffic areas of Metz: the first on Place République in the city center, and the second near the Arènes sports complex and the Centre d’art contemporain Pompidou-Metz.

The Nomad is a secure, modular, ready-to-install bicycle shelter offering 20 to 80 cycle parking spaces, depending on the size chosen.

A compact bicycle shelter with a contemporary design. A single module measures just 6.04 meters long and 2.40 meters wide. This makes it ideal for city centers, railway stations and other high-traffic areas, as it takes up very little floor space.

The other strong point of our Nomad bike parks is that they are pre-assembled in our workshops in Saint-Philbert de Grand Lieu, Loire-Atlantique (44). The bike racks are then transported by truck and crane by our teams.

For the City of Metz, each module was pre-equipped with 2 park-up bike racks.

These one- or two-storey bike racks optimize the space inside the secure shelter, offering greater parking capacity than conventional bike racks.

Some bike racks also feature VAE sockets for electrically-assisted bicycle boxes.

These collective bike boxes can also be customized, as Abri Plus offers a wide choice of coverings (solid and/or perforated sheet metal, decorative sheet metal, random bars) and custom-made adhesives to meet the specific needs of companies and local authorities.

The cladding chosen for Metz is solid sheet metal in the middle and perforated sheet metal at the top and bottom.

Thanks to our bike maintenance range, additional services are also available inside the bike lockers: inflation station with outdoor pump and wall-mounted toolbox with self-service repair tools.

Cyclists using bike lockers will be able to carry out maintenance on their two-wheeled vehicles very easily. An access and subscriber management system can also be used to restrict access to the locker to a specific target group. In the case of Metz, access management is the responsibility of Park Indigo.
