We recently set down anchor in Bures-sur-Yvette in the Essone region (91) to equip the town hall with two open bike shelters and create self-service bike and scooter parking spaces. For this project, we chose theBeaupréau bicycle shelter, a model distinguished by its original roof. It canaccommodate up to 10 bikes and scooters. Made from galvanized steel, the Beaupréaubike shelter is extremely sturdy and resistant to vandalism, thanks to its unclad design.
On the town hall square in Bures-sur-Yvette, we have installed two Beaupréau bicycle shelters measuring 5 by 2.5 meters. The first provides parking and protection for 8 bicycles, thanks to 4 A-bollards. These hot-dip galvanized steel supports stabilize and secure bicycles. A-bollards are particularly suitable for smaller bikes. The hot-dip galvanizing process makes the bollards corrosion-resistant, extending their service life.
The second bike shelter is equipped with 2 A-racks and a scooter rack. This rack allows up to 10 scooters to be parked under the shelter. For this two-wheeler shelter, all equipment has been painted the same color. At Abriplus, you can customize the color of your bike shelters and racks by choosing from a RAL color chart of 184 colors.
By combining different parking facilities, as shown here with spaces for bikes and scooters, the town of Bures-sur-Yvette is encouraging its residents to adopt gentler modes of travel. For an even more complete offering, it would have been possible to add charging racks for electric bikes and scooters, thus meeting the various needs for sustainable mobility.
This project was partly financed by the Alvéole + program, which subsidizes up to 50% of cycling facilities. This assistance is an opportunity for local authorities wishing to improve their cycling infrastructure and encourage the use of alternative modes of transport.
