Following a call for tenders, Lons Town Council (64) awarded the contract for the manufacture and installation of a covered walkway to Abri Plus.
The design office engineers visited the Groupe Scolaire Perlic Sud, in Lons near Pau, to meet the people in charge of the project and take measurements. They assessed the constraints of the environment, in particular the significant height difference, and took into account the Eurocode standards and calculation notes.
The Abri Plus teams then designed a custom breezeway and 2 awnings for the nursery school, adapting a Beaulieu breezeway.
Its honeycomb polycarbonate roof lets in plenty of light.
The Groupe Scolaire now boasts a long covered walkway, around 45 metres long and 2 metres wide, providing easy access to the various school buildings.
Schoolchildren are well protected from the elements.
The gangway was installed during the school vacations, so as not to interfere with the kindergarten.
Covered passageways are shelters that can be adapted to the needs of all businesses and local authorities, thanks to their modular design.
