Abri Plus manufactured and installed a bike park for a park-and-ride facility in Aurillac (15) through UGAP (Union des groupements d’achat public).
In a bid to reduce the number of cars in the town center, Aurillac’s parking department had already set up park-and-ride facilities for cars, with a shuttle service to the center.
The collective bicycle rack selected by the city services is theModul’Ere bike shelter from Abri Plus.
The dimensions of the bike room (4 meters by 6.50 meters) are perfectly suited to the space available in the park-and-ride facility.
The cladding chosen by the town of Aurillac is made of horizontal bars, but this bicycle shelter is also available with glass, wood, wire mesh or a combination of these materials.
This bike park is completely modular and scalable !
In fact, it’s perfectly possible to retrofit double-decker bike racks to double parking capacity.
The installation of this secure bicycle locker goes even further, enabling residents to favor soft mobility in their daily journeys, with a slogan clearly displayed by the town: “In Aurillac, favor soft mobility”.
The enclosed, secure shelter has been fitted with 8 Pornic bicycle racks, providing parking for 16 two-wheelers.
Inside the bike shelter, a standard bike repair station has been installed so that cyclists can easily maintain their two wheels with the tools provided.
To ensure complete personalization of the bike shelter, the graphics on the adhesives were created in collaboration with the town’s communications department. The contemporary design of the bike park blends in perfectly with its surroundings.
The town of Aurillac in the Cantal region (15) will be continuing its efforts to promote soft mobility by installing a second shelter in the near future!
