A bike shelter with solar panels and VAE recharging

Abriplus has manufactured and installed its new PESCARA bicycle shelter equipped with solar panels in the town center of Le Rheu (35).

In Ille-et-Vilaine (35), the technical services in charge of the project chose this covered shelter for bicycles and VAEs for its resolutely modern design and its transparency thanks to large glass walls.

This 4 m long by 2.20 m wide flat-roofedbicycle shelter can accommodate 3 bicycle bollards (2 bicycles per bollard) as well as an electric bicycle bollard.

In this way, 6 conventional bicycles and 1 electrically-assisted bicycle can be secured at the same time under the bike shelter.

Two solar panels have been integrated into the roof of theoutdoor bike shelter to power the VAE charging station, which in turn supplies electricity to the batteries of parked electric bikes.

The electrical cabinet connected to the VAE station is very discreet and fits perfectly into one of the shelter’s posts. The JULIETTEVAE station is therefore 100% solar-powered, for complete energy autonomy.

For this turnkey solar bike project, our design office drew up the plans and managed the entire project, together with the supplier of the photovoltaic panels and an electrician for their installation and connection to the Juliette VAE station.

In addition to this bicycle parking area, multi-service bicycle facilities have been installed nearby to promote cycling:

– a bicycle repair station for simple repairs to bicycles, with a pump for re-inflating bicycle tires;

– a wash station with water fountain for cleaning your bike after a ride and refilling your water bottle.

The commune of Le Rheu has also benefited from the Alvéole scheme, which enables local authorities and social landlords to finance part of their facilities for bicycles and VAEs (up to 60%).
