60 new bicycle parking spaces in the Greater Périgueux community (24)

Recently, our teams descended into the south-west of France, in the Dordogne (24), at Périgueux, to install a shelter capable of parking and housing 60 bicycles.

Satisfied with theNomad bicycle shelter installed at the city’s SNCF railway station Multimodal Interchange Hub (PEM), Greater Périgueux decided to put its trust in us once again, and called on theAbri Plus teams to install a secure Nomad triple shelter!

The Nomad is a modular, secure bicycle shelter that arrives ready-to-install on site. It can therefore be adapted to your needs. In the case of Greater Périgueux, which needed a large bicycle parking capacity, 3 modules, each equipped with 20 spaces thanks to our ” 2 Park up ” double bike racks, were assembled. This provides parking for up to 60 bicycles.

Thebike shelter has been customized to fully meet the needs of Greater Périgueux; some of the double bike racks are equipped with VAE boxes for recharging electrically-assisted bicycles when parked. An awning completes the installation.

The cladding is made of perforated sheet metal, and several adhesives have been applied to complete the design. Similar to the first secure Nomad shelter installed some time ago in Périgueux, a green band representing “bicycle” signage wraps around the perimeter of the shelter. This is a good way of letting residents know that a bike park is available.

The shelter completes Périgueux’s effective bicycle plan, which enables residents to park their bikes in a secure location.

The Nomad bike park is available fromUGAP and is eligible for the Alvéole Plus program , which has enabled Greater Périgueux to obtain a subsidy of up to 50% on thissecure bike shelter project.
