Abri Plus has built and installed 18 secure individual bike boxes in the commune of Thyez.
In Haute-Savoie (74), these bicycle parking facilities were installed following an invitation to tender won by Abri Plus for the supply and installation of individual secure bicycle shelters.
6 cubicles are available at Thyez town hall and the Maison des Associations.
A further 12 veloboxes have been installed at the leisure center (forum des lacs).
They are free to use, and an instruction manual helps users understand how they work.
The Vel Box bicycle shelters feature sliding doors that can be individually secured by the user with a padlock.
Inside the individual bike lockers, a bar is used to position the bike, and a cable is used to attach the bike for added security.
Sockets for recharging electrically-assisted bicycles and hooks for hanging helmets and other items will be installed in certain cubicles.
The bike lockers in Thiez have been personalized with stickers on the sides and blend in perfectly with the town’s tree-lined environment.
These practical, secure bike racks are designed to promote soft mobility in Thyez.
