Developing bike-train intermodality at SNCF Pays de La Loire stations

The SNCF called on Abriplus to manufacture and installsecure collective bicycle shelters at several TER stations in the Pays de la Loire region (Aléop transport network).

3 NOMAD bicycle shelters have already been installed and will soon be operational in the TER stations of several towns in the PDL region: la Haie Fouassière (44), la Ménitré (49) and la Mothe Achard (85).

These secure bicycle parking facilities are designed to develop bike/train intermodality, i.e. the ability to use and combine different means of transport on the same journey.

In addition to encouraging bicycle travel, the introduction of collective bicycle lockers at stations also makes station access more fluid and improves parking.

The NOMAD secure bike park from Abri Plus is a modular, ready-to-install secure bike shelter. Thanks to its contemporary design, it blends in with any environment.

The special feature of the NOMAD bike park is that it is pre-assembled in our workshops near Nantes and installed directly on site using a truck crane. This greatly reduces the time required for on-site installation by our teams.

A single module of this bike shelter is 6.04 m long and 2.40 m wide. Each module secures up to 20 bicycles and VAEs, thanks to the installation of 2 Park-Up double-height bicycle racks: 10 bicycles on each side.

A double shelter with 2 modules placed side by side will therefore be twice as wide and can accommodate up to 40 cycles.

The NOMAD bike park also offers a wide choice of finishes: solid and/or perforated sheet metal, decorative sheet metal, random bars…

A choice of 180 colors and various options (awning, stickers, accessories, VAE supports, etc.) will meet all your customization needs!

For secure bicycle parking, managing access to the shelter is essential, which is why Abriplus offers several access control systems to secure its shelters: digicodes, Vigik badge readers, card readers, smart codes…

To secure the various shelters, Abri Plus gave the SNCF the option of setting up its own card-compatible shelter access management system.

Train users in Pays de la Loire now have concrete solutions for secure daytime bicycle parking, and can also take advantage of the bicycle services offered inside these bike lockers, such as a multi-tool station and an inflation pump.

New bicycle facilities are also planned for Sainte-Pazanne (44) and Château du Loir (72) stations.
