Bike shelters for hospitals and care centers

To make it easier for their employees to commute to and from work, many hospitals and clinics are equipping their facilities with secure or open bicycle shelters.

Bicycle shelters are designed to protect and secure bicycles used as a daily mode of transport. This mode of transport is one of the barrier gestures (or behaviours) clearly identified by nursing staff.

The Abri Plus teams have installed a wide range of bicycle shelters in care centers across France.

Here are 4 heterogeneous bicycle structures, for 5 different dimensions of bicycle parking and safety equipment:

1. Square + secure bike shelter

At the Bichat hospital in Paris (75), as in all APHP hospitals, our teams installed an attractive enclosed bicycle park, the SQUARE + model. Inside its green walls, which were chosen from our palette of 184 colors (RAL), this bike park offers 40 parking spaces. 2Park Up double-decker racks optimize space and double parking capacity. It is also equipped withbicycle facilities: a wall-mounted toolbox for initial repairs and adjustments, and an inflation pump. To embellish the vast walls of this shelter and facilitate communication about its function, the hospital has opted for “bike park” signage.

2. Modul’ere enclosed bike shelter

In Saint-Cyr sur Loire in the 37 region of France, the Clinique de l’Alliance chose the MODUL’ERE model for its modular, scalable dimensions. To meet the clinic’s parking needs, our teams installed a shelter measuring 6.5 meters long by 5 meters wide and 2.80 meters high. It accommodates 40 indoor spaces thanks to our double-decker 2 Park Upbike rack, and 20 outdoor spaces under a 5 m canopy thanks to our U-bollards. The choice of coverings and colors makes this model both stylish and charming, blending in perfectly with the clinic’s environment.

3. Nomad ready-to-install bike shelter

At the Centre Hospitalier de Poitiers (86), the elegant NOMAD was selected. With its wooden batten cladding, this secure enclosed bicycle shelter is full of assets. It offers a range of cladding options, making it easy to blend in with its surroundings. What’s more, it’s ready to install and move. The Nomad bike park is manufactured and pre-assembled in our workshop in Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu (44), then installed directly on your site. It can be accessed by Digi code, Vigik card, etc., or by the Diwio system solution.

4. Nomad ready-to-install bike shelter

Closer to home in the Vendée, the Centre Hospitalier Départemental (CHD) has also equipped itself with NOMAD secure bicycle shelters. Here, gray ZEBRA sheet metal cladding has been chosen, adorned with a central solid sheet metal bike park sign to indicate the location of the park. The CHD in La Roche sur Yon purchased our shelter from our partnerUGAP.
