Abriplus receives the EcoVadis Bronze Medal!

Abriplus reçoit la médaille de bronze EcoVadis - Engagements RSE

Abriplus has been awarded the Bronze Medal by EcoVadis, a significant recognition in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

EcoVadis, a specialist in CSR assessment, offers tools for measuring, improving and steering the CSR performance of organizations. EcoVadis medals and badges are awarded to companies that have successfully completed their assessment, and whose management systems meet demanding criteria in terms of the environment, ethics, human and social rights, and responsible purchasing.

Our environmental approach

With 32 years’ experience behind it, Abriplus maintains its status as a responsible company and is committed to an environmental approach. Since 2009, these commitments have been validated by the ISO 14001 environmental standard, which is renewed every year. We are committed to local production and sustainable design.

With the aim of implementing a sustainable environmental policy within the company and with all its stakeholders, Abriplus is taking concrete action by mobilizing its employees on a variety of subjects: carpooling, preserving biodiversity, clean-up actions…

Our environmental impact

At Abriplus, we have been committed to respecting the environment since 2008 by aligning our values and actions. We take care to control our activity and its impact, in particular by optimizing waste management and reducing our impact on natural resources.

For several years now, Abriplus has been taking steps to improve its energy management. 1,000 m² of solar panels on the workshop roof produce 35% of the electricity needs of the factory and our offices! What’s more, our new building is entirely self-sufficient, producing 100% of its own electricity consumption.

Our eco-design process

On the Research & Development side, we have implemented an eco-design process to reduce the environmental impact of our products throughout their life cycle. The structures of our shelters are designed to resist and last over time. They are made entirely of galvanized steel, a recycled and recyclable material with a lifespan of over 20 years. All the other materials we use are also recyclable, including glass, wood, aluminum and polycarbonate.

In this way, Abriplus applies the LOW TECH philosophy, the search for just enough, by designing lighter products while guaranteeing their sturdiness and reliability.

Local manufacturing

All our products are designed in our workshops located in Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu (44), near Nantes. All operations are carried out on site: cutting, cutting, welding, drilling, bending, sanding, painting and assembly. Only galvanizing is entrusted to a local partner, based in Brittany, 150 km from our facilities. We also have a logistics platform in Lisses.

We attach great importance to the origin of our raw materials, guaranteeing that they come mainly from France, and exclusively from Europe if necessary. What’s more, all the wood we use is PEFC-certified, ensuring that it comes from sustainably managed forests.

Responsible purchasing

Abriplus prefers to source its raw materials from local partners. Working with suppliers located close to our manufacturing site is essential to guarantee a short supply chain and reduce the environmental impact of transport. The vast majority of our suppliers are located in the Loire-Atlantique or Vendée regions, and some are even only a few kilometers from our workshop!

In line with the life cycle of our products, we have a strict waste management policy. We sort and recycle all our materials (steel, aluminum, glass, wood, etc.) via our service provider Foucault. We have also implemented a dematerialization process for our documents to limit printing. To recycle paper, we work with the local humanitarian association Les Papiers de l’Espoir. The association collects paper and sells it to companies specialized in recycling. The funds collected help finance humanitarian projects.

Our social and community commitments

Putting people at the heart of our decisions

To combat discrimination, Abriplus ensures that disabled people are properly integrated into its workforce. At the same time, the company calls on 2 ESAT (Etablissements ou services d’aide par le travail).

On the partnership front, we’re honored to partner Mona Francis, top-level sportswoman and European paratriathlon vice-champion.

Employee well-being

At Abriplus, the health and safety of our employees is a top priority. Every year, we are committed to continuously improving their working conditions.

Each employee has his or her own protective equipment, which is regularly assessed and adapted according to feedback. These annual consultations ensure that PPE is always in line with employees’ actual needs.
