A parking canopy is a shelter designed to protect vehicles from the elements. Since 2024, its installation has been mandatory in large and medium-sized retail parking lots. Whether on new or existing parking lots, they must now be equipped with photovoltaic canopies, covered with solar panels, to generate energy while providing protection from the sun.

At Abriplus, several of our shelters are designed to accommodate solar panels. With its flat roof and robustness, the Pescara model is the most suitable open shelter for the installation of solar panels.

Most of our secure bike shelters can also accommodate photovoltaic panels.

To plant a shelter, a number of conditions need to be met.

Firstly, the support must be solid and suitable, with a flat roof strong enough to support the weight of the vegetation. What’s more, the shelter must be designed to allow easy access for maintenance, to ensure that the vegetation lasts.
